The Australasian Porcelain Art Teachers (APAT) in South Australia are committed to increasing awareness in our wonderful art of on-glaze painting and are always keen to encourage new painters to this art form. So if you have often wondered about the processes involved in porcelain painting to reach the stage that you see in its final form at an exhibition then we have someone who could provide some lessons. Who knows - there may be some latent talent just waiting to be released.
There will be a number of exhibitions held during the coming year and you are invited to attend these. South Australian members of the Australasian Porcelain Art Teachers will usually be in attendance at all of these exhibitions and would be pleased to answer your queries and discuss the painting process with you. If you are interested in classes that can also be arranged and there are qualified teachers located throughout the metropolitan and many country areas.
If you cannot visit one of the forthcoming exhibitions (click on "Upcoming Events" on the tab on the right-hand side when you first access the APAT web site) you could contact the Porcelain Art Centre, PO Box 3381, Norwood SA 5067. The Porcelain Art Centre is located at the Buttery Reserve, 259 Portrush Road, Norwood and classes are conducted at this centre. You could also click on the "Members" tab to see whether there are teachers located in an area that is suitable and convenient for you. Should you wish to telephone please ring 0403 765 381 and leave a voice message. Your enquiry will then be responded to within a few days.
We do hope that you will take up our invitation to have a try at on-glaze painting - we think that you will enjoy it as much as our members do.
